To The Letter

Mike Boon AlphabetWhat It Is: A series of prints by artist Mike Boon that incorporate famous (and not-so-famous) characters and creatures into alphabetic pictograms. The idea? Teach little ones their letters without sacrificing style in a pretty engaging way. It’s a heck of a lot more memorable to learn your letters by naming fictional princesses or Pixar characters than plain ol’ typefaces. It also makes a fun guessing game for adults that are particular fans of a fictional realm.

Who It’s For: On the surface, any little one that’s particularly attached to a specific series; the character choices range from Super Mario Bros to a broader scope, like ‘Horror Icons’ (bottom right). Alternatively a genre-obsessed friend might not mind one as a kitschy piece of art for their basement.

What It Costs: Prices start at $18 for a loose print – but you can actually adapt these to everything from an iPhone case to a hoodie.

Where It’s At: Print shop Society6.
